12 TIPS TO BUILD THE ASSET KNOWN AS FRIENDSHIP (2)

We will continue with the series on the tips on how to build the asset known as asset. I hope you enjoy the series one, this is the series two and the concluding part and will be awaiting your comments and other input you might think is also part of it.

v  BE FLEXIBLE: Build up the ability to change readily to meet new circumstances. Flexibility is always important for maintaining friendships. Don’t be rigid!

v  SUPPORT AND PRAISE YOUR FRIEND: In most of your friend’s doing and their achievements, always lend your support and praise him/her. Ignore their  failures and imperfection.

v  NEVER BETRAY A TRUST: Oxford dictionary definition for trust is “firm belief in someone or something without evidence or investigation”. Trust is widely known as the foundations of any relationships so don’t even try to violate this truss of friendship. It can even ruin the best of friendship ever known.

v  RESPECT YOUR FRIEND’S POINT OF VIEW: Different personalities can complement each other and even complement each other best. It isn’t always necessary to see eye to eye. Using a football team as an example, to have a formidable and best of all team all sorts of players are needed. Ranging from a good dribbler, good enforcer, good goalkeeper etc. So your difference in your personalities is no fuss.

v  CONTINUING ADDING POSITIVE VALUE TO HIS/HER LIFE: If a relationship isn’t  adding anything to one’s life, I guess it is time to call it quit. A lot of influence and value comes into play in any relationship and a positive from you as friend. It should be reciprocal anyway.

v  ONE ON ONE CONTACT: Best friends need one on one contact to survive. Telephone calls and visits are vital for best friends to continue. In fact, probably the quickest way to end a friendship is to neglect it and severe contact. No matter how busy your life is, there are little ways to maintain such as sending e-mail frequently, chatting using the social media apps, engaging in some must do activities such as shopping together, attending programs and function together e.t.c

Friendship lifts hearts and lengthens lives. It is as old as humanity and as important as love or justice. Build one today, turn the liability ones to an asset.
